President

Hipolito Alibin Jr.,

Hipolito is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CGA). He holds Bachelor Commerce (Honours) Degree from Laurentian University and a proud alumnus of Red River College Business Administration Program.

Hipolito is a Partner and Chief Financial Officer with Trivenity Corporation (www.trivenity.com). His diverse accounting, finance and management experience spans over 15 years, notably including, Government of Manitoba (public sector), Archdiocese of Winnipeg (registered charity) and various SMEs and corporations (private sector). He started with MFBC since it launched in 2010 and previously held director positions of Treasurer and Vice-President. He was elected to his current role as President in January 2015 and will carry and fulfill the mandate for a period of 3 years.

He is an active and passionate advocate for the ethnic business communities. He achieves this by collaborating with like-minded community leaders who are dedicated and committed in seeing real results for the community. His other volunteer roles and affiliations include: Director, Economic Development of Winnipeg; Committee Member, The Winnipeg Chamber of Commerce; General Member, Financial Executives International. His vision for MFBC is to increase the number of Filipino-Canadian entrepreneurs & business professionals in the province, improve member benefits, recognition and engagement with various business groups and community leaders. Vice-President

Jihan Aquino

Jihan Aquino is the Manager of Retail Banking for Canadian Western Bank at the Kenaston location in Winnipeg. Like the Big 5, Canadian Western Bank is a Schedule 1 Bank that offers full service personal and business banking. As the largest Publicly-traded Canadian bank headquartered in Western Canada they believe long-term financial success is rooted in hard work. CWB’s common sense approach and commitment to building strong banking relationships help us offer solutions suited to each client’s unique needs.

Jihan holds over 15 years of retail banking experience dealing with investments and retirement strategies. She started her career as a teller and progressed to Manager Retail Banking including Premier Relationship Manager and acting Branch Manager at another Financial Institution. She believes in what she does can make a difference in her clients’ finances and works hard to be crucial to her their financial success.

Jihan joined MFBC because she wanted to be part of team that truly believed in making a difference in the City of Winnipeg as well as contributing to the Filipino Community.

Outside of work and MFBC, Jihan enjoys spending quality time with her family and friends. She tries to keep active and has dabbled in a few team sports as well as enjoys salsa dancing.

Secretary

Dale Voluntad

Dale Voluntad is the Branch Manager for the Sargent and Sherbrook Branch of RBC Royal Bank in the Central Winnipeg Market. His role provides overall branch management by leading and achievement of team sales objectives and related activities to achieve a high standard of operational effectiveness, superior client experience and optimal sales performance.

Dale has spent 13 years with RBC in many different areas including personal banking, personal investment planning, personal and business lending and branch management.

Active in the community and a strong supporter of the growing Filipino Community in Winnipeg Dale is an organizer of Liga Pinoy. He sits on 2 Employee Resource Groups within RBC, RBC Mosaic and Next Gen. and Dale volunteers with the Immigrant Centre, IRCOM, Boys and Girls Club of Winnipeg, and Winnipeg Harvest.

Mr. Voluntad graduated and completed the Justice and Public Safety and Human Resource Management Program from Red River College. He is currently enrolled to complete his Financial Planning designation.

Director of Public Relations

Jackie Wild

Jackie Wild is a communications professional born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba. She graduated from the Creative Communications program at Red River College with a focus on public relations.

Jackie has developed her professional resume in the not-for-profit sector, and currently works as the Communications & Special Events Manager at Grace Hospital Foundation. Additionally, she owns a company called Digital Ink Creative and offers a variety of communications services to local businesses, including public relations, marketing, event management and graphic design consultation.

She is actively involved in Manitoba’s Filipino community as Director of Public Relations for the Manitoba Filipino Business Council and Columnist for the Filipino Journal. She has also volunteered for a number of other local organizations, including the International Association of Business Communicators, Women Business Owners of Manitoba, Kidney Foundation of Canada and K.I.D.S. Initiative.

Treasurer

Ray Mutuc

Ray Mutuc is a Financial Advisor. He started his career with Sun Life Financial and then followed to become an Independently Contracted Broker with HUB Financial. In 2014 he attained his Exempt Market License and joined the Pinnacle Wealth Brokers organization. He has been in the financial services industry for over 4 years and has a strong passion educating clients on finance. Ray is always seeking out investment solutions and strategies that add value to his client s financial well-being. He specializes in helping clients diversify their portfolios with alternative investments. Also specializes in Risk Management and Estate Preservation, providing holistic financial planning.

He’s been involved with the MFBC since it’s inception. Started volunteering within the membership committee and also became an Ambassador for the MFBC. He currently serves on the Board of Directors and is now the Treasurer working with the Finance Committee.

Ray has a beautiful wife and a 3 year old son. Him and his wife love to travel, especially to Hawaii, which is where they got married. He is very passionate about his Faith. In his spare time he loves to work out, read, volunteer and spend time with his family.

Valen Vergara

He is the CEO of an international event, marketing and graphic design company, VA Productions Inc. (Winnipeg, Madrid & Paris) and is changing the world one culture at a time through Culture Card Inc.

Valen Vergara is one of a select few entrepreneurial experts chosen as a cast member in the movie “Game Changer,” a documentary about increasing performance in business and life through the delivery of advanced, practical and implementable strategies. As well as a Public Speaker who has been featured on many top radio shows.

Valen is the Founder of The Worldwide Expedition for Peace & Truth Project (WEPT) Inc. The WEPT Project Inc. subscribes to sustainable philanthropy.

Valen’s strategic objective is to maximize his earning ability to fundraise for humanitarian campaigns. His life’s work is centered on mentoring, empowering and investing in the field of human potential.
