MasterChef Canada finalist presents Filipino-inspired dishes at gala

October 27, 2016 (WINNIPEG, MB) – Jeremy Senaris, top two finalist from the latest season of MasterChef Canada, will be presenting a Filipino-inspired menu at the Manitoba Filipino Business Council (MFBC) Awards Gala on Nov. 17 at Delta Winnipeg. The organization’s marquee event invites local leaders and influencers to honour the achievements of business professionals in Manitoba’s Filipino community.

“Filipino cuisine features a lot of classic and homemade comfort foods, and it’s the up-and-coming next big thing in Asian cuisine. My goal for this year’s MFBC Awards Gala is to provide an elevated ethnic experience for Filipino and non-Filipino guests,” says Senaris. “I’ve had the opportunity to showcase my spin on Filipino cuisine to the masses on TV, and I’m bringing this perspective back to where I started – in Winnipeg!”

Alongside celebrity guest chef Senaris, the event will also feature cultural entertainment performed by local Filipino dance group Magdaragat Philippines and band Traffic Jamz.

Funds raised from this year’s gala will help MFBC finalize their transition into an official Chamber of Commerce. This status change will allow the organization to further assist aspiring Filipino-Canadians to pursue their dreams of becoming successful entrepreneurs and business professionals.

“Manitoba has so many talented professionals who deserve to shine on a national stage, and we’re thrilled to share Jeremy’s inspiring story at our upcoming MFBC Awards Gala,” says MFBC President Hipolito Alibin Jr. “The goal of our celebration is to highlight the achievements of humble and hardworking local leaders. Our award recipients need to be recognized for the impact they’re making on our local business community and beyond.”

Tickets to the event are available for purchase online. Individual tickets are available for $150, and Corporate Supporter Tables are available for $2,000. To purchase your tickets or for more information, visit mfbc.ca or contact [email protected].
